Felicia began her career in GIS at TNRIS in 1999 after graduating from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Geography. During her 18 years at TNRIS, she received the FEMA Under Secretary’s Award for her support on the Space Shuttle Columbia Recovery Operation as well as an ESRI Special Achievement Award for her participation in the development of the Texas 9-1-1 Geodatabase Model. Felicia was instrumental in the development of the Texas Strategic Mapping Program (StratMap) at TNRIS which provided a cost-saving measure to develop, enhance, and maintain digital statewide geographic data layers for Texas. She recently earned a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs. In her current role at TNRIS, Felicia administers and directs the activities of the Geographic Information Office (GIO), including the establishment of strategic direction and goals for the GIO and the facilitation of collaborative projects with the GIS community in Texas.
