Rebecca Malmquist, CAE, SAMA, is the City Assessor for the City of Minneapolis. She has worked for the City of Minneapolis since July 2014. Prior to joining Minneapolis, Rebecca was with the City of Minnetonka for 17 years, serving as the City Assessor for five years.

She has served on several IAAO committees and task forces and on the Board of Directors representing Region 2 from 2018-2020. She is currently the IAAO President-Elect/Treasurer. She is an IAAO Instructor, Professional Designation Advisor, and State Representative.

She served as the Managing Editor for the Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO) publication Equal Eyes for seven years, winning the Zangerle Award in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2009. She is currently the MAAO Membership Coordinator.

She has been a presenter at numerous conferences and courses for the MAAO and IAAO.

Ms. Malmquist has a B.A. degree in Geography and Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She earned her Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor (SAMA) license in 2003 and her CAE designation in 2008.

She and her husband Bryan have an 18-year-old son Anders. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. She is also a certified yoga instructor.
